Frequently asked questionsCompany Structure?DWS is a flat structured organisation, lead and directed by our CEO, Danny Wallis, the Board of Directors, and a Management Team. We do not have different levels of Consultants within DWS. All our technical employees hold the title of software consultant with no distinction between junior or senior roles. The role that the consultant fulfils on a project, is dependent on their skills, knowledge and experience. DevelopmentAll our employees are encouraged to learn new skills and apply this to their working environments, therefore learning and development requirements are assessed on a case by case basis. We have relationships with a variety of training providers and vendors. On-the-job training is extensively used in the form of “Cross Training initiatives” thus it gives our more experienced employees and or subject matter experts an opportunity to facilitate training sessions or giving presentations in their specialist areas. How will I learn the Quality Methodology?DWS prides itself on the development and implementation of our Quality methodology namely, SpinnakerOne. All employees will be required to attend a training session at which time they will be trained in using the methodology. Training sessions are held at Crown Towers Business Centre and are conducted by a qualified and experienced DWS consultants and who are also members of the Quality Committee. What project would I be assigned to?DWS does not hire for set positions or projects. We hire professionals with a strong technical skill-set, who can be flexible and adaptable in the work they do. The project you are assigned to will depend on your technical skills and experience. Back to topWhen my project is completed, where will I be allocated?DWS endeavours not to run a “bench”. The majority of the time the projects are scoped well enough in advance, our Business Development team will resource a new project before the current projects have come to an end. However on the rare occasion this does happen, it is time for self study, or assisting on in-house projects within the DWS Office. What does DWS stand for?Danny Wallis started DWS in 1991. The initial meaning behind these letters was “Danny Wallis Software”. However, over time DWS became more of a brand name, synonymous with quality IT solutions. Whilst Danny Wallis is the CEO, today DWS stands for quality, professionalism and team work. Is DWS a Recruitment Agency?No. DWS is a professional services organisation, specialising in Software Development and Advanced Business Solutions who actively employs IT and Business professionals, on a permanent basis.
