Privacy Act

The Commonwealth Government introduced the Privacy Act. This act requires an organisation to handle information about people in a responsible manner.

DWS gathers private information on people who wish to be considered for employment with us. This information is provided by the potential applicant and may vary in its level of detail dependent on what the applicant wishes to have in their resume. Information may include; your name, address, telephone number, date of birth and information specific to your past education and employment.

This information is collected in order for us to evaluate your skills against available positions. If you are unsuccessful in your application all records will be destroyed in a secure manner.

Disclosure of this information

DWS will only disclose information, with your expressed consent, for reasons pertaining to reference checking and/or your sitting our BIS Test. We will not pass any of this information to any third party for any reason. Applications for positions are held on a secure computer system and accessible by the Recruitment and Human Resources area only.
